The Portfolio


The "Nouveau Salon des Cent" portfolio consists of a hundred posters created by one hundred of the best graphic designers of our time, from 24 different countries including China, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Zimbabwe, the United-States and most of the European countries, as a tribute to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, for the Centenary of his death, 1901-2001. Initiated by the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum Partners' Club. In cooperation with the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum of Albi. The printing was limited to only 380. The posters have been exhibited in major museums and galleries around the world.


The Designer - Max Kisman


Max Kisman (Netherlands, 1953), pioneered with digital technology in the mid eighties in typography and graphic design for magazines, posters and postage stamp designs.


In 1986, he co-founded TYP/Typografisch Papier magazine on typography and art. Worked and lived in Barcelona from 1989-1992 where he digitized many of his early typefaces for FontShop International in Berlin, Germany.


From 1992-1996 he was graphic designer and animator for VPRO Television in the Netherlands. In 1994 he became VPROdiqital and HotWired in San Francisco. He received several awards for his television graphics and animation.


In 1997 Wired Television in San Francisco hired him as art director. Currently he lives in Mill Valley, California. He works for various clients in the US and the Netherlands and teaches graphic design at the CCAC, San Francisco.
