All eyes are focused on the steaming bowl of Carpentier Chocolat.
From the white dog that stretches up to reach it, to the black cat
who seems ready to drink. The cat's upright tail is an ingenious part
of the floating text which hovers among the wondrous white wisps of
steam, that radiate up from the bowl. Even the baby, who pushes away
from the weary nursemaid during nursing, reaches out wildly for his
preferred nourishment. Henri Gerbault creates a heart-warming memorable
design, in keeping with the great master Steinlen's two most famous
images (PL.95 and PL.
170). |
