Swann Auction Galleries, N.Y. Dec. 2003.
"Little is known of Roedel, who never wandered far from Montmarte
and who managed to insert the symbol of that quarter, the Moulin de
la Galette (windmill) in almost all of his posters" (Rennert,
PAI-XVI, 442)
The Family Faivret was not running a Dry cleaning place as you can
imagine when you see this poster but was a very nice men's clothing
store. Maxime Faivret invented the collar as well as the wrist cuff
made out of cardboard covered with cotton, because this is the part
of a shirt that gets dirty fast.
