Part of the famous Belgian "Liege Trio" (Berchmans, Donnay, and Rassenfosse),
whose printer Auguste Bernard (1854-1907) played an important role in the ascent
of the poster artist in Belgium, Rassenfosse creates a clean, effective, well
drawn design. His interesting use of an elegant woman, seen in part through the
bottom of the beer glass, gives the brewery Van Velson, a sophistication one might
only expect to find in a wine or champagne poster. | |
