This poster by Moreau-Nelaton a leading impressionist painter, illustrator, designer
and ceramicist, advertises the passion play, "The Nativity" by the abbe
Jouin, parish priest of St. Medard. A pastoral play with songs and tableaux vivants.
We see the artist's soft painterly handling of the procession through the village,
with his 'E.M.N' (Etienne Moreau-Nelaton) signature mark and year, set cleverly
within the glowing moon (upper left). | |
