The Portfolio
The "Nouveau Salon des Cent" portfolio consists of a
hundred posters created by one hundred of the best graphic designers
of our
time, from 24 different countries including China, Japan, Mexico,
Brazil, Zimbabwe, the United-States and most of the European countries,
as a tribute to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, for the Centenary of
his
death, 1901-2001. Initiated by the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum Partners'
Club. In cooperation with the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum of Albi.
The
printing was limited to only 380. The posters have been exhibited
in major museums and galleries around the world. View

The Designer - Swip Stolk
Swip
Stolk (31-1-1944) lives and works in Zaandam.
He designed posters, logos, books, stamps and exhibitions for
various companies, institutions and magazines and acted as a regular
designer for the VARA (1976-1978), the Groningen Museum (1988-2000)
and Museum het Rembrandthuis in Amsterdam.
Stolk taught at the Academie voor Kunsten en Industrie in Enschede
and the Rietveldacademie in Amsterdam. His work is represented
in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Haags
Gemeentemuseum and the Groningen Museum.
His calendars and books were awarded several prizes. In 1969 he
received the Frans Duwaer Prize for typography, in 1990 the H.N.
Werkman Prize for his designs for the Groningen Museum and in 1993
the cultural prize of the municipality of Zaandam. |
