The Designer - Peter Pocs

He was born on the 14th September, 1950 in Pecs, Hungary and graduated from the Fine Arts College in Pecs in 1971 obtaining a Gold and Silversmith Designer degree.

He has been working as a graphic designer from 1972 preparing mainly cultural (theatre, exhibition, festival) posters and from 1989 also political and social posters.

His spiritual masters are: Henryk Tomaszewski, Waldemar Swierzy and Gyorgy Konecsni. His only commercial customer is Tamas T. Nagy - cheese importer.

His plastic (sculpture) posters can be easily recognized from the unique way in which he shapes salt paste or clay that is later painted and photographed.

He is a regular participant of international invitational poster symposiums (Hommage a Max Ponti, International Litfass-kunst Biennale, 13 + Lautrec, Communication 2000, Hungarian Millennium).

He regularly takes part in international exhibitions, biennales and triennials with his works.

He is founding member of the artistic group D.O.P.P., established in 1987.

He has established a one person workshop, POSTER'V Design Studio in 1991.
