The Portfolio
The "Nouveau Salon des Cent" portfolio consists of a
hundred posters created by one hundred of the best graphic designers
of our
time, from 24 different countries including China, Japan, Mexico,
Brazil, Zimbabwe, the United-States and most of the European countries,
as a tribute to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, for the Centenary of
his
death, 1901-2001. Initiated by the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum Partners'
Club. In cooperation with the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum of Albi.
The
printing was limited to only 380. The posters have been exhibited
in major museums and galleries around the world. View

The Designer - Kari Piippo
Born in Finland in 1945. Studied at the School of Industrial Art,
Helsinki.
Worked two years in an advertising agency in '67. A free-lance
graphic designer specialized in illustration and poster design
since the early 70's.
Founded his own studio in '87. Taught graphic design at the University
of Art and Design Helsinki, '89-97. Has held many individual and
group exhibitions at home and abroad. Also given many poster workshops
and lectures, among others in Mexico, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, China,
Japan, Czech Republic and Ecuador. Has taken part in the most important
international poster exhibitions since the early 80's and has been
as a jury member in a many national and international competitions
since '89.
President of Helsinki International Poster Biennale '94-98. A
member of AGI.
His major Finnish awards include: The State Industrial Arts Award,
Graphic Artist of the Year, Platinum Award and four Gold Awards.
Several Best Finnish Poster Prizes.
