The Portfolio

 

The "Nouveau Salon des Cent" portfolio consists of a hundred posters created by one hundred of the best graphic designers of our time, from 24 different countries including China, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Zimbabwe, the United-States and most of the European countries, as a tribute to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, for the Centenary of his death, 1901-2001. Initiated by the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum Partners' Club. In cooperation with the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum of Albi. The printing was limited to only 380. The posters have been exhibited in major museums and galleries around the world.

 

The Designer - Pierre Neumann

 

Born in Adelaide (Australia).

 

Fine Arts in Lausanne (Switzerland).

 

Works as a freelance graphic designer for various cultural institutions in Switzerland and abroad. In particular, designs works for the International Photograph Meeting in Arles (France), the Parc de la Villette in Paris, the Ensemble Inter-Contemporain by Pierre Boulez in Paris, the Human Rights League in Paris. Designs the new graphic image of the Kunsthalle in Bern (Switzerland) and has been creating all printed matters (posters, catalogues, etc.) for 5 years. Specialises in designing posters, books, artists' catalogues (Mapplethorpe, Lichtenstein, Yoko Ono, Jeff Koons, Basquiat, among others); Teaches at Fine Arts Cantonal School of Lausanne, Art Centre College of Design (Europe), Switzerland, UQAM, Montreal. National School of Photography, Arles, France, College of Photography, Vevey, Switzerland.

 

Member of various international juries on graphic design.

 

Awards

 

About 10 posters were awarded a prize by the Department of Cultural Affairs in Switzerland. ICOGRADA Prize at the 7th International Poster Festival of Chaumont.

 

About 20 books were awarded a prize by the Department of Cultural Affairs in Switzerland.
