The Portfolio

 

The "Nouveau Salon des Cent" portfolio consists of a hundred posters created by one hundred of the best graphic designers of our time, from 24 different countries including China, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Zimbabwe, the United-States and most of the European countries, as a tribute to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, for the Centenary of his death, 1901-2001. Initiated by the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum Partners' Club. In cooperation with the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum of Albi. The printing was limited to only 380. The posters have been exhibited in major museums and galleries around the world.

Born on March 24, 1930, in Kronberg/Taunus, Germany. School of Applied Arts, Offenbach-am-Main.

 

From 1951, freelance graphic designer.

 

Posters of radio and television for the Hessischer Rundfunk. Posters of music concerts, tours and festivals, of cinema, theatre and opera, of museums and exhibitions. Artworks for books and records. Theater and cinema sets, exhibition models.

 

From 1981, professor of graphic design at the Wuppertal University. One-man exhibitions

 

New York, Mexico City, Wuxi (China), Berlin, Poster Museum of Essen, Museum of Decorative Arts of Frankfurt, among others...

 

Member of the Deutscher Werkbund, and of the AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale).

1983 Essen Triennial, gold medal, Toulouse-Lautrec award. 198410th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw, silver medal. 1985 International Jazz Poster Exhibition, Lodz, Poland, gold medal. 1986 Graphic Arts Biennale, Brno' 86, Czechoslovakia, gold medal. 1990 Culture award from the Essen City Council. 1991 Litfass award.
