The Portfolio
The "Nouveau Salon des Cent" portfolio consists of a
hundred posters created by one hundred of the best graphic designers
of our
time, from 24 different countries including China, Japan, Mexico,
Brazil, Zimbabwe, the United-States and most of the European countries,
as a tribute to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, for the Centenary of
his
death, 1901-2001. Initiated by the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum Partners'
Club. In cooperation with the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum of Albi.
The
printing was limited to only 380. The posters have been exhibited
in major museums and galleries around the world. View

The Designer - Frieder Grindler
Born in 1941. In 1964 he completed his studies in Kassel, Germany,
and became art director at Silddeutsche Rundfunk (TV station of
southern Germany) in Stuttgart where he worked in the area of film,
animation and video. There he completed over 40 trailers and logos
for various films and TV productions. During this time he began
designing posters for the theater, designed books and record covers,
as well as exhibitions.
In 1979 he became professor of communication-design at the FH
in Wurzburg, Germany.
Grindler has received numerous prizes and destinctions including
the Grand Prix at the Graphic Design Biennale in Lahti, Finland,
1981, the gold medal at the biennale in Warsaw, Poland, and the
Ehrendiplom at the '100 Best Posters', Berlin, 2001. His work has been included in exhibitions all over the world including
Warsaw, Lahti, Toyama, Colorado, Chaumont, Mexico among others. |
